2nd National Cybersecurity Hackathon to be organized by Ignite

The 2nd National Cybersecurity Hackathon and hands-on workshop will be organized by the Ignite National Technology Fund.

From October to December Hands-on workshops will be hosted in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Sukkur, and Abbottabad, while cybersecurity hackathon competitions will be held in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Quetta.

The winners will receive Rs. 6 million in cash from Ignite. According to Ignite, the first reward is Rs. 3 million, the second prize is Rs. 2 million, and the third prize is Rs. 1 million. According to Ignite, the National Cybersecurity Competition has been developed to provide hobbyists, hackers, and students with the opportunity to participate in an exciting challenge to earn honors, win prizes, and expand their knowledge base.

Security researchers and academics will benefit from the Cybersecurity Hackathon 2022 because they will be able to use the attack data and network traffic generated during contests as case studies to help model, forecast, and prevent real-world security issues.

It will improve practical understanding and confidence in information security abilities. To monitor the cybersecurity workforce to determine its strengths and weaknesses in terms of knowledge, skills, and capacities.

In 2021, Ignite hosted its first Cybersecurity Hackathon, with 1176 teams from throughout the country participating. Out of 1176 teams, 475 were chosen for qualification rounds in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, with the final round also taking place in Islamabad.

The top three teams in each of the hackathon’s five categories received cash awards totaling Rs. 6 million.
